Reaching The Powerhouse In Our Brain

Posted by Normahickox in New Age

I’d like to elaborate on the process that takes place in the brain to reach the upper levels and also what must occur to sustain them. Because I’m a musician I will use a musical performance as a comparison to help with understanding.

Level one in the first section of the brain, the physical body realm, is the part of the brain keeping our body alive and breathing.

Level two is the physical movement of the individual parts. The first stage of brainpower is simply the ability to focus on one thing, while performing an unrelated task. This is an experience that should be practiced by all. A simple one to begin with, that most everyone can do will serve as an example. This is simply to eat and read a book at the same time and do a good job of both. This is a very simple demonstration and, of course, needs to be expanded from there. This is simply to give an idea of what is meant.

Level three is coordinating all that physical movement. The study of a musical instrument that necessitates the use and coordination of both the hands and the eyes at the same time is good. This also incorporates the mental thought that is controlling the memory of the notes or the eye/hand coordination, if reading the music. Any task or art or sport that uses eye/hand coordination is a good starting point. It progresses beyond this stage into that of incorporating one’s emotions into the same task, or occupation. This would be the use of the soul (emotional body) with the physical body. When these two are able to cooperate in unison in a flowing, blended performance, then the higher levels of the mind can start to be ascended.

Level four in the second section of the brain, the emotional body realm, lets all that go on while pulling it all together into an integrated performance so smooth and beautiful that it affects the emotional body of those listening. You can sustain this fourth level by being able to continue the performance of the physical and emotional bodies combined and at the same time think of something entirely different. In the case of a concert artist performing, he would be able to concentrate on the effect his performance was having on his audience and act as the director of the performance while still performing. If he doesn’t think the emotional impact of the piece is reaching those listening, he can demand more effort, more involvement of the soul, the emotional body. If he feels the tempo is dragging, he orders the physical body, the fingers, to pick up the speed with which they are moving.

Level five takes it out of the realm of the ordinary and lets it become part of the universe. This is the level that touches or senses the harmony of the energy waves and automatically pulls the performance into perfect balance with the universe. The mental body is truly the director of the other two bodies, but his job can go higher. He can take that performance out of the realm of the ordinary by moving up to the fifth level and listening to it as though from a distance.

Level six would allow all this to continue and would allow the performer to be able, at the same time, to wonder what he was going to have for dinner that evening. Does this surprise you? It is an ability to split off another part of the mind totally onto another subject. If one had more hands he would be able to perform a totally different song on a totally different instrument at the same time.

Level seven in the third section of the brain, the mental body realm, would give the ability to keep the performance going and give a lecture on another subject at the same time. It’s like stacking one block on top of another, adding another dimension to the previous level.

Level eight would be keeping the performance and lecture going and to be receiving information from higher realms at the same time.

Level nine continues all this with the entity able to leave that body doing all that, and go somewhere else.

Level ten in the fourth section of the brain, the spiritual body realm, would continue all this and allow this one to be able to return with something of a physical nature brought back with him. This could be in the form of a flower, or leaf or a rain cloud or what have you. You see we still have two levels to go.

Level eleven would enable the physical body to rise above the stage of performance while the performance was continuing.

Level twelve would allow for flight in the physical body to take place, but only a short distance to be able to keep the performance going. If not interested in continuing what you were doing, you would be able to fly in your physical body anywhere you wanted to.

Women Of The Major Arcana

Posted by Fgimino in New Age

The High Priestess of the Tarot Women represents a virgin of sorts. She can be seen as being similar to the Greeks goddesses Athena, and Artemis. Many lunar images can be seen on various High Priestess cards because this image is that of a maiden moon or new moon.

This image is usually shown at the feet of the Waite version of cards, as the crescent. The moon, in all three phases is seen in the Isis crown on the card. Two horns depict the waxing and waning phases of the moon. A circle in the middle symbolizes the full moon. Many believe that the High Priestess is a guard of secrets and the mysteries of life.

This is because she is usually shown holding a book or some type of scroll. It is because of this that people believe she is telling us that many mysteries exist and at sometime we might be privy to these mysteries. Unfortunately right now these mysteries are guarded and protected only to be unraveled at another time.

Why? In the unconscious, our ego will only allow us to see truths if we pretend we exist isolated from the rest of the world. To enlighten us, the High Priestess usually tries to engulf us by making us question our very being. This would be our existence.

This is hard for people to accept as they are usually given very little information about their existence. That is all the High Priestess will allow. When a reading is performed, the High Priestess suggests people need to delve inside themselves to find peace.

Is it hard for people? It has been suggested that it can be hard for people to find a truth they cannot explain. When this happens people must accept that if they cannot find their truth or peace, then they need to be tranquil as to not totally lose this inner peace.

The Empress is a feminist of sorts. She embodies amiability, passion, and a desire for opulence. The Empress can be seen as being similar to Demeter, and Aphrodite. Aphrodite is known as the Goddess of love. Another name for Aphrodite is Venus.

Also symbolized by the Empress is a correlation between motherhood and a woman’s sexual appetite. Great passion and a yearning for motherhood can be illustrated by the Empress. A female’s sexual prowess can be associated with development and abundance of ferocity for life as depicted by the Empress. Early drawings of the vulva symbolize the relationship between fertility and emergence of human life.

Pleasures of life are associated with the Empress because of her direct relationship with fertility. In a reading the Empress is associated with life and emotions. She is also affiliated with the giving of herself like mother gives of herself to her children. Fertility of the body as well as the spirit is stressed by the Empress.

Often in Tarot readings, the Empress blinds us with passion, causing people to be blinded by their personal strife in life. Often the Empress is viewed as a mother in a reading.

The Empress may indicate infertility or rejection when reversed in a reading. Other times the Empress provides enlightenment in order to sway people to more insightful aspects of life, rather than just succumbing to their deepest yearning.

The Psychical Role Of Spirituality

Posted by Fgimino in New Age

What is spirituality? Very simply put spirituality is the core of our belief systems. These belief systems are often based on deities, supernatural forces, or universal energies. The purpose of which is to provide a deeper meaning for our physical existence. Furthermore, the need to define our existence beyond the five senses is deeply rooted in the fundamental development and differentiation of our id into the ego and super-ego.

So, why is spirituality so deeply rooted in our human development? To answer this question we need to first look deeper into the psychic connections we form as infants. These psychical connections, as you will see, form the core of our spiritual “self”. They in fact truly determine our ability to differentiate between good and bad.

Now let us take a look at why the need to understand or define our existence starts in our infancy. As our id develops and the ego evolves from it we are able to differentiate between “self” and “other” by forming the “repressed”. The “repressed” is formed during the Primary Repression phase of our development and is cut off from the ego via repression.

However, the repressed may still be accessed via the id. During this period of development we also form our ability to differentiate between good and bad. Furthermore, this ability to differentiate between good and bad forms the core of our spiritual nature by creating the means of forming the super ego.

Secondary repression brings about the formation of the super-ego. This is primarily caused by the anxiety produced, in direct response, to certain desires. This anxiety acts as a negative stimulus or punishment and causes the desire to become repressed. Once the threat of negative stimulus has been internalized it forms the super-ego.

This evolution from the somatic instinctual id into the “evolved” id/ego/super-ego complex is the ongoing developmental process that leads to the formation of our adult spiritual belief system. In addition this spiritual belief system allows relief of ongoing stress and anxiety without forming complex neurotic coping mechanisms of continued repression.

So, it should be apparent that spirituality not only gives a deeper meaning to our existence but also provides an important outlet for stress and anxiety. Stress and anxiety unchecked or repressed wreaks disastrous consequences, in our lives. Leading to unhealthy neurosis with devastating repercussions.

Consequently, without spirituality we would truly be a society of neurotic individuals with a plethora of maladaptive personality traits. These personality traits can manifest them selves in many forms. From anti-social behavior to alcoholism the list of potential pathologies are beyond the scope of this article.

So, embracing spirituality is not only morally right but also a healthy practice. Whether you choose to worship a deity or talk to a tree for spiritual guidance the ability to transcend this world by unplugging your inner self and connecting it to an external “force” is an integral part of good mental health. It allows us to release the stress and anxiety that we cannot handle or process. Thus discharging it in a healthy manner rather than repressing or “stuffing it” to fester and malinger.

In summation spirituality is not only the core of our belief systems. Even though spirituality does form the core component of our religious and cultural beliefs. It also is an essential component of our psyche. Even more importantly spirituality forms the core of our psychical ability to cope with stress and anxiety, in a socially acceptable manner.

The Truth About Traditional Witchcraft

Posted by Rariadne in New Age

The written word is a powerful medium. Around the time when the alphabet was first created, Goddesses were worshipped in most parts of the world. The word “witchcraft” did not exist and the words “pagan”, “heathen” did not exist either. Cultures lived by following natural cycles of life by taking care not to destroy more than they had to. Words written, mostly from a male perspective started the downfall of the feminine themed ways of life including witchcraft.

There is evidence of temples and places of worship where Goddesses were revered and rituals performed for the good of mankind. Fertility rituals, seasonal rituals and other ceremonies were conducted usually officiated by women as they are the people nature had chosen to carry on human existence.

Traditional witchcraft is the label given to the practice of witchcraft that is not Wiccan and “non new-age” in origin. Traditional witchcraft is the collection of witchcraft beliefs and rituals that used to be practiced all over the world.
Since human beings have the capability to think imaginatively, we have always tried to distinguish the supernatural and experience the awe-inspiring possibilities. Most cultures have ways to alter states of consciousness and try to connect to our origins or “the source”. In a few countries, where the Europeans could not completely annihilate and destroy the magickal cultures and their ways of life, these traditions still flourish.

The advent of religious writing was what started the vilification and defamation of natural ways of life. A bunch of disconnected drivel was compiled together in the name of God, and people, obsessed with ignorance greed, tried to “conquer” the rest of the world to “save them from sin”. In the name of God they plundered, looted and murdered innocent people. In the name of God, they destroyed (”colonized”) many beautiful nature loving cultures that were flourishing in different parts of the world.

Traditional witchcraft, which was the way of life in most of the world, was a motley mix of inspiration, meditation, spell working, divination and fortune-telling. It was concerned with the powers that exist in the netherworld as well as life after death. It was fascinated by nature and with ways to control or change the direction of the wind, the flow of water and the movement of the planets.

It did not have the Wiccan belief of the three-fold law of returns. Most witches were free to do any ritual that could potentially damage their lives as well as that of others. However, they were not aware of the consequences of their actions.

Traditional witches believed in multiple Gods and Goddesses, each of them having a specific power or duty. There were local Gods, some having more power than others, Gods in human form, animal form or other mixed forms. In contrast,
Wiccans believe that there are only two divine beings, The Goddess and the God.

Many other names may be used in rituals, but they are all”manifestations” of these two powerful entities. Wiccans also believe that the God and Goddess may merge into the almighty “One” who combines the powers of both.

Rose Ariadne has been practicing ancient forms of Witchcraft for over 25 years. Get more info about traditional witchcraft here: http://www.askroseariadne.com/editorials/9traditionalwitchcraft.html
