Three Deadly Mistakes That Consistently Wreck Your Life

Posted by Srana25 in Religion and Spirituality

Sow and you shall reap. This is the principle of prosperity. It is the modus operandi of the universe and the modus vivendi of human life. And it is the secret of abundance.

If you cleave to this principle, your life will be one of abundance.

It is the incomprehension of this principle that is the cause of all human misery. In contrast, it is the comprehension of this principle that has been the root cause of any happiness.

First, let us understand the principle.

When you sow a seed into fertile ground, you do not reap a plant that simply yields another seed. Instead, you reap a plant that provides that seed multiplied many times over.

The principle of sowing and reaping, then, is the secret of abundance.

Yet despite its obvious simplicity and its observable nature, it is consistently misunderstood.

And although one may disregard the idea itself, it still continues to work in your life.

Here, then, are the three most common errors associated with this metaphysical principle that governs all life, spiritual or mundane, animal or plant, animate or inanimate.

One: Not applying it at all. It is quite common for people to want to receive without giving and to want something for nothing. There is a price to pay for everything, even if it is free.

This is how it generally plays out. You want something and you try to get it. Your effort will result in your either not getting it or getting very little of it. If you want love, you try and get it from someone. If you want money, you try and get it from someone. And so on. The result of this approach is limitation, negativity, scarcity, and insufficiency.

Two: Applying it in reverse. Here is where the misery factor comes in. Political, military, or economic force is applied. Successful domination may or may not happen. Eventually, the backlash is far worse.

In fact, this is how mighty empires, seemingly invincible, have crumbled into the dust.
On an individual level, the same thing happens. An application of apathy, grief, fear, lust, anger, and pride results in a condition far worse.

Three: expecting the return to come from the recipient. When people first discover and apply this principle, they usually give up fairly quickly. Their act of benevolence or generosity often appears to be met with ingratitude. Rather than reciprocating, the recipient often appears to be indifferent or even sometimes hostile, feeling obligated and pressured.

If you wish to have an abundant, happy life apply the principle.

Here is how to do it:

Give consistently the best of yourself to help others and the world. This giving should be done freely, regularly, and generously, with no expectation of return and with a joyous heart.

Do that one simple thing and you will be a master of manifestation and live a life that you could never before have believed possible for you.

As you sow so shall you reap.

Your returns will come back multiplied. Every single unit of what you give, be it love or money, wisdom or service, will come back to you tenfold, if not more. The bigger your heart, the more overflowing your generosity of spirit, the more you will be overwhelmed by the quantity of the return.

Do this and you will be avoiding the three misunderstandings that prevent most people from understanding the principle.

You will be applying the principle, rather than ignoring it. You will be applying it in a positive way, rather than in a negative way. And you will not press the recipient to feel obligated but patiently await your own harvest from some other source, not yet known to you.

Now please understand one other thing:

Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, the principle is always working. This is because it is the basic mechanism of how the universe itself operates. Just as inhalation and exhalation is necessary for the operation of your life, so too is giving and receiving essential to the life of the universe.

Applying it with awareness will prevent you from making the three deadly mistakes and turn your misfortunes into fortune and your inhibited life into one of joyous and spontaneous fulfillment.

Decide today who you are and decide what you can give to bless all of life. It may be a small gift that you have to give the world but it will magnify over time as the giving becomes consistent.

Understand and apply this simple principle and you will attain success not only as a human being but as a spiritual being, for, in the final analysis, all life is a unitary continuum.

Prosperity Is Simple

Posted by Dnb700 in Christianity

Everything God has created is made of energy. The only difference between an atom of a tree and an atom of a mushroom is that the atom of a tree has energy that is vibrating at different frequencies than the atom of a mushroom. It is evidently clear that the same particles growing together in a tree, or in a mushroom, are because they are vibrating at the same frequency.

Everything is made up of energy, including thought. Thought is energy vibrating at a particular frequency. This has been proven in scientific laboratories. With proper instruments, scientists can measure the frequency of thoughts, or brain waves.

Thoughts are powerful forces of energy and can only come from our own minds, and we should understand things do not just happen accidentally. Everything that happens in our lives happens for a reason. Since we are the only ones in charge of our individual minds,we create the thoughts that create the circumstances in our lives.

Most of what we are experiencing has been attracted by our own thoughts, for the bible says, “As a man thinks, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Since our thoughts create reality, we create our reality. So making excuses and casting blame only make us out to be the victim. There is absolutely no power in playing the part of a victim.

I know it can be very difficult to change the pattern of thinking we have engaged in for so long. But, It’s only a habit, and habits can be changed.

Instead of thinking thoughts of fear, dread, and worry, think thoughts of peace, happiness, and positive expectation. Easier said than done, I know. But, like I said, negative thinking is only a habit - a bad one.

Job had engaged in negative thinking and attracted all kinds of garbage into his life. He said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me” (Job 3:25). You obviously don’t want the things you fear to come upon you. So, quit sending out vibrations of fear! Make a decision that you will only use your imagination for positive thoughts. Fear and worry are only the mis-use of the imagination.

God has given us an awesome resource - our mind. Also, He has given us free will to choose what we will do with our minds. Use it responsibly! He said, “I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore, choose life” (Deut 30:19).

It really takes no more effort to think positive than it does to think negative. Like I said, thinking negative is just a habit. A habit you must break if you want to live an abundant and prosperous Christian life.

Whatever it takes to break the bad habit of negative thinking we must do it. Maybe it will mean us having to break off some negative relationships. Maybe it will mean us having to turn off the television, or the radio. Understand that our association is vital to our well-being. “Like attracts like” and we must send out vibrations of thought at the same frequency as the things we want.

Prosperity is simple. All we must do to attract the things we desire is hold a mental picture of what we want as long as possible and as often as possible. Feel that we already have what we desire with certainty and we will see it become manifested
in our lives.

It sounds simple enough, and it really is simple. It’s just not all that easy! It’s not easy because our old thinking patterns are habits, and habits are not always easy to change. It can be done though with practice and determination.

In summary, our thoughts are vibrating energy and we create what we want by focusing our thoughts on those things. Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “According to your faith, be it done unto you.”

Resolving The Paradox Between Psychology And Spirituality

Posted by Srana25 in Buddhism

It seems that there is a contradiction between the psychology of transcendence and the spiritual idea of transcendence.

Psychologists believe that through the proper application of intelligence and self-cognition one can have a full and enjoyable life, with wealth, health, and a great relationship, as well as a sense of communal belonging and contribution.

Those in spiritual groups, in particular of an eastern orientation, believe that one has to get rid of the lustful ego that craves only fleeting things and to unify with divine consciousness.

The most popular compromise to resolve this seeming paradox is that you have to build up the self and let it go. In Vedic philosophy this is expressed as becoming a householder in the first stages of life then retiring to pursue transcendence.

Yet most believe, because of cognitive dissonance, that they should choose one view or the other.

Thus, there are those who believe that they should be worldly and experience the world as it appears to be.

Then there are those who believe that they should reject the world and dedicate themselves to getting out of the misery of the cycle of birth and death.

Here is another way of understanding this paradox.

The self is a transcendent consciousness. It is not limited to a particular body or a particular lifetime. Because it is not anything in particular, the “I” is not an “it.” This is why Buddhists say there is “no-self.”

Similarly, the world itself is entirely illusory. I don’t mean this metaphorically or even psychologically. At the subatomic level, again there is no substance. There are just probability patterns that literally flit in and out of existence! For example, an electron can appear under an observing instrument then disappear, then reappear again. There literally is no stuff! This is why the Vedantists say that the world is Maya, or illusory.

Yet to all purposes, on the macroscopic level, both an intelligent being and an intelligible world appear to exist.

On this level, personal growth and advancement is necessary, not because it means anything on a cosmic scale, but because there is literally nothing else to do with this adventure of life. You can either resist evolution and suffer all kinds of lack or you can embrace evolution and the refining of mind and enjoy fulfillment of resources and experiences.

Thus, when you look at things from the view of levels of perception, all contradictions disappear, just as the contradiction of day and night disappears when you understand that the sun and earth are in a cosmic dance.

It is possible to be engaged in the world and to actually enjoy it and at the same time to enjoy meditation and contemplation to experience the inner sky of blissful freedom. It is by no means an easy path, but after a while, they will support each other. Material success and harmonious relationships will give you the opportunity to retreat to your inner work. Similarly your inner work will contribute to your increase of abundance and maintaining a loving relationship with others.
